Jermaine Dupri Explains Why He’ll Never Visit Da Brat in Jail

Jermaine Dupri appeared on V-103 last week and was hit with a few questions about Da Brat?s incarceration. Brat, who’s been in jail on an assault charge stemming from an incident that occurred in Jermaine’s Studio 72 (recent mugshot) since September 2008, is still serving the remainder of her 3 year sentence but I’ve heard she’s doing ok and has even been coordinating Jail house talent shows.

Last year this time, Katt Williams publicly basted Jermaine for not visiting Brat since she’s been in jail. In the recent radio segment, JD explained why he won?t visit her in jail and why everyone should mind their own bees wax:

Those people they don’t really know me, to even say nothing about what I’m doing with that situation like that. When Brat comes home, all I know is I?m gonna be the person that takes care of her, make sure she get back on her feet, and do what they gotta do. They not, so they shouldn’t even worry about that. they should support her and go see her. but they should never speak my name in they mouth. they don’t have nothing to do with me. basically, for real. When you say that, you talking about somebody else. that’s just like everybody talking bout tiger woods. we know nothing about the situation, everybody should shut up. do what you do, if you gonna support the situation then cool, but don’t speak on me not going.

I felt a certain way about seeing Brat in jail. you know what I mean, so Yea, I don’t wanna see that, that’s my little sister and I don’t really wanna deal with that situation like that. I would prefer dealing with getting her out and you know, seeing that day as opposed to just going to see her.

According to corrections records, Da Brat is eligible for possible parole February 2011 with a maximum possible release date of August 2011.

Jermaine goes on to say that he’s explained it to Da Brat already and has no problems telling anyone who asks. Click Here to listen to the interview over at RapRadar.
