Atlanta high school basketball legend and current NBA baller, Dwight Howard has officially filed a defamation lawsuit against his baby mama accusing her of cyber-bashing. Howard, alumni of Atlanta’s Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy and Orlando Magic center, has filed lawsuits in Orange County, Fla. and seeks a huge amount of damages that he he knows she can’t pay all because his baby moms vents about him online.
In recently revealed court documents, Howard (who originally denied the case) is seeking $9.2 million in damages against Royce Reed, the mother of his 2 year old son. The suit alleges that Reed violated an agreement they made that disparaging comments made directly or indirectly against Howard would not be made or published via the internet or any other communication mediums.
The comments in question are said to have been made on Lipstick Alley by Reed and several of her associates in a thread entitled ?the ?real? Dwight Howard” and Howard is asking for the astonishing amount based on the calculation of $500 per disparaging remark posted online multiplied by the 17,410 times they have been viewed.
Some of the potentially hazardous comments posted on the site include:
He hasn’t shown up for his scheduled visitation in damn near three months but loves his son? He’d rather hang out with hussies during his visitation. Idk how many times he’s been caught in that act. Is that the behavior of a man who loves his son? He’s mentioned his child once in the media. Once. Gtfohwtbs. He loves himself
He ignores his baby. I am surprised he is even around enough to teach him anything, especially abuse. He’s (Dwight) still a big goofy kid though. Royce and him need a middle person, such as a counselor to try to mediate. He hates her. I don’t know if he resents her because she had the baby anyway or because she reminds him that he is still Black. And most of all those men in the NBA are abusive
She literally begs dwight to come and see him. I’ve been there firsthand to witness it. And yes obviously I am bias because I am her friend, but I never said she was an angel. I’m callin a spade a fucking spade.
For the person who just tagged bonjourroyce, THIS IS NOT ROYCE!!!! Legally, royce is not allowed to speak on Dwight to ANYONE. This has been effective since the end of October. This is what dwight does. He has her backed into a corner. She cant do ish.
Howard had recently won an permanent injunction against Reed, preventing her from “using or publishing (orally, in writing, or otherwise), directly, indirectly or by innuendo, [Dwight’s] name, nicknames, image, brand photographs, and/or likeness.” Dwight claims that Royce violated the injuction when she posted the above online under the aliases incogneato, anonymousgirl & miamimammi.

Reed has denied via an attorney’s statement that she had any parts of the remarks, she also says that she’ll be vindicated in court:
We have examined the contents of that suit, and Ms. Reed is flabbergasted that it was filed without any attempt to even ask her if she had anything to do with the complained of matters in that suit. Ms. Reed has absolutely no knowledge of, nor was involved in, or otherwise was a part of, the complained of disparagements mentioned in that suit. Instead, Ms. Reed fully and unconditionally condemns them.
In addition, and as mentioned in that second suit, the parties had reached a good faith settlement of this very dispute on October 28, 2009, and Ms. Reed consented to the Court?s order of injunction as a result of that amicable settlement, and she considered the matter resolved. This as an unfortunate event that is not at all of Ms. Reed?s making, and she looks forward to full vindication by the Court.
I don’t know if it’s Royce posting all Dwight’s business on lipstick alley, but the ip address will clear all that up. Royce does have her own personal blog though, where there’s no question of her identity since her pic is posted all over the page.
In a post dated November 29, 2009, Reed accuses ‘groupies and haters’ of ruining what she and Dwight had together. As she reveals all the stages of her former loves, Number 5 (who umma assume is Dwight but I’ll give her credit for not actually typing his name) is the one who changed her life forever but also the one who hurt her the most after she read things online:
Apparently, Im supposed to brush it off and not read things posted about me but Im human. I take my reputation seriously and it hurts so bad to see all these false accusations made about me. It makes me so sad, angry, and hurt that sometimes I just scream or go off. I know most things that are posted are from people who just get mad to see their crush with someone. So then, they get online and come up with the most random stories or try to make up something that could SEEM to be true to make the 2 involved think and question each other.
Misery loves company and I fall for it everytime. Im sure alot of the ppl who started these lies are reading this and are smiling right now but like Ive said before and the quote I try to live by “Never plot against some1 tht God has his hands on! I never hav 2fight my own battles.He does it 4me!”. Karma is REAL & I cant fix a house I didnt build! If you are that miserable and that hateful that you have to ruin my reputation and make up all these things about me, its not saying much about u.
Not that you should care but I have a 2yr old to raise as a single mother now because YOU were unhappy with someones choice. You took it in your own hands to spread lies thru the internet that it the new root of all evil. Now theres alot of hatred in my heart for someone i once loved due to many instances that were caused by drama. But its over so you can stop.
I have moved on and I am dating someone new that knows the REAL ROYCE and knows that i am NOTHING of what your internet devils have tried to make me out to be. So yea, you hurt me, you made me cry, you made me feel like I wasnt worth much, you made me lose someone i really did love and wouldve gone thru hell and stood on the sun for but im human…Im also Gods Child tho… So I will say this…You may win by hindsight…you may win by material things, but eventually your heart will catch up to you and you will feel horrible about ruining something God had his hands on but the Devil let you and anyone else who made up, spread, reposted, listened to and didnt stand up for or defend tear apart.
Its not about being fair, thats childish. Its not about doing whats right or wrong. Its about you. I wake up everyday a little less hurt because I have someone who truly cares about me and wont leave me because of something someone says to him or something he reads. I wake up everyday a little less hurt because I know God has his hands on me and although i dont go to Church everyday he knows I kneel everynight and when things get to hard I turn to him and not against him.
I used to think “why me?” Now I know it WAS ME because Im strong enuf to handle it and I deserve the best and My son deserves the best. Despite the lies you continue to spread and the evil you still possess Im still standing.
I felt bad for Royce after I read that but it almost proves Dwight’s case. We all know that blogging, twittering, facebooking has gotten to such a level where it’s easy to take things and run with them, but dayum… how much is too much?? If she made the agreement with Dwight and takes to a blog and or a forum to write about him anyway, she should face the music.
On the other hand, if he’s been a deadbeat dad, he should too. And I’m not talking about child support cause that baby don’t care about a check. I’m talkin bout him visiting his seed. I think the case will probably be resolved without either of them steeping into a courtroom with Dwight’s point being…keep my “name out yo mouth” and Reed’s being… “be a Dad to your son!”
