Davis Text Caused Chris Brown/Rihanna Conflict + “Text-ed” is Not a Word

The video above is about two years old but shows Chris Brown’s manager, Tina Davis in action during her former days as A&R of Def Jam.? In case you’re wondering why or if you should even care…Davis has recently been revealed to be the mystery woman who sent the steamy text that caused the conflict leading to Chris’ alleged beatdown of Rihanna.

Sources tell us that the woman who left the three-page text message on Brown’s cell phone is Tina Davis. Davis — who turns 40 this month — was rumored to have had a relationship with Brown when he was 16. Brown and Davis have denied it.

Law enforcement tells us the text message to Brown talked about hooking up later — and it totally pissed off Rihanna. She slapped and hit him and he then brutally fired back.

The detective’s affidavit refers to the text message as being “from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.” (Source)

OK. So now what? He beat the young chick, he’s still kickin it with the old chick and they’re all stilllll together…so blah blah blah! Reminds me of my twitter conversations yesterday about the use of the word “text-ed.”? I caught myself saying that word and literally laughed out loud when it came out of my mouth. I can almost imagine Rihanna in her island accent saying “Chris…who the hell was that who just text-ed you?” 😆

You’ll be pleased to note that my TWITTER followers and I collectively decided that the use of the word is now off limits. See how we came to that understanding below:

ATLien I’m kinda torn…can someone explain to me if it’s proper to use the term “texted?” As in he “texted” me and said blah..blah. Is that a word?

kayce_m@ATLien um… it is to me, but then again, i may not be the best person to ask (i make up my own shit all the time). idk. sounds right. :))

JAHZIGIRL@ATLien funny I have pondered the same thing…I personally think ‘texted’ sounds crazy! I treat it like fish, deer and just say ‘text’…

thatladyj@ATLien I honestly think that is one of those words thats plural in its singular form. “He sent me a text” “he text me” but I dunno 4 sure

marvelousmo@ATLien i pronounce out “text’d” not “text-ed”

SIMPLYSTIRLING@ATLien I think it’s just “He Txt me” It’s more so jargon than language

jdiddy32@ATLien yes that’s the correct usage

haveAwonderful@ATLien maybe (only) if when they say it out loud is sounds like – text’d and not text’ded – um, thinking now. no. ‘he text’ me is fine. lol

Biso_Fly@ATLien I think it’s a word I use it like I “texted” you earlier

HauteinLA@ATLien technically no, it’s not a word. The proper past tense would be “text messaged” as there is no past tense of “text” LOL!

CandiceNicolePR@ATLien I don’t think it is..you can still say “he text me and said yada, yada”

AlwaysConvinced@ATLien Please never say texted ever again in life….It’s: He text me the directions to the club.

GossipOnThis@ATLien texted isn’t a word???

I’m so glad we got that straight! I’ve vowed to remove “texted” from my vocabulary since y’all all say it’s wrong. Plus I just found it in the Urban Dictionary and we all know what that means… 😕
