Good Deeds | Tyler Perry Donates $100k For Legal Defense of Breonna Taylor’s Boyfriend Kenneth Walker

It’s always a blessing to be a blessing and media mogul Tyler Perry continues to add more good deeds to his list.

The successful filmmaker dropped a huge donation towards the legal fees of Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker as he fights against a Louisville Police Officer suing him.

Details below…

Kenneth Walker is being sued for emotional stress and trauma by officer Jonathan Mattingly, who was shot in the leg during the botched raid on Breonna Taylor’s home.

Walker, the boyfriend of Taylor who died in her own home at the hands of Louisville Metro Police Department plainclothes officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove, maintains that police did not announce themselves, and he believed the house was being broken into.

Mattingly, who was shot in the leg by Walker during the botched raid, refutes that claim, saying the cops did signal their arrival and he sued Walker for assault, battery and emotional distress back in October.

[Sidebar: Meanwhile none of the officers involved have been charged in the senseless death of Breonna Tayler. But I digress.]

A GoFundMe page was launched on behalf of Walker to help raise funds for his legal battle against Mattingly.

The GoFundMe page states:

It’s outrageous for one of the men partially responsible for all that, to sue the man who endured it.

The raid that killed Breonna Taylor was poorly conceived, nightmarishly executed, and hastily covered-up. The subsequent grand jury proceedings were farcical and staged. Daniel Cameron’s statements were disingenuous, at best. Jon Mattingly’s lawsuit is the nearly-unbelievable next step in this ongoing mockery of justice.

Tyler Perry made four separate transactions late Sunday afternoon to help the fund surpass its $100K goal.

This continues Perry’s generous philanthropic efforts and giving back to the community. During Thanksgiving, Tyler Perry Studios distributed non-perishable food items and gift cards to families in need in Atlanta.
