The 33-year-old rapper went viral after posting footage to his Instagram displaying his “generosity”. In the clip, Meek (real name Robert Rihmeek Williams) refers to the boys, who are trying to sell him water at a red light, as “Atl RUNTZ”.
Meek can be seen handing the boys a single $20 dollar bill to split amongst them, stating, “Y’all gotta split it!”
The rapper soon caught flack for his “good deed” as many noted that his donation was “disrespectfully low” and amounted to only about 2 or 3 bucks per kid.
He’s also been referred to as a “broke” rapper by many who angrily responded to his online post.
Meek soon responded to the criticism, stating, “They appreciated it, they just hustling kids.”
