Grand Opening/Grand Closing! ABC Cancels ‘Rosanne’ After Comedian’s Racist Tweet…

Another day, another white supremacist is outed online.

This week, it’s comedian Rosanne Barr who lit up twitter yesterday with a racist rant about a former Obama White House aid.

ABC has now hit the breaks on her ‘Rosanne’ sitcom reboot and referred to the show’s star as abhorrent and repugnant.

Details below…

For the record, Barr is notorious for tweeting about pro-Trump conspiracy theories and other controversial topics and this week, she targeted several prominent Democrats and one tweet caused her entire show to crumble!

In one of the tweets, Barr wrote, “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.” as a response to a comment about Valerie Jarrett, a top former aide to President Obama.

Barr later replied to CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski and said it was just “a joke.”

She then deleted the tweet and issued an apology to Jarrett and “all Americans”.

The world began to crumble for the show following Barr’s Twitter rant.

Comedian Wanda Sykes, one of the show’s consulting producers, quit the show with a public announcement online.

Following Sykes’ announcement, ABC released the following statement:

Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.

The cancellation comes just months after the show premiered to huge ratings, however the network is not backing down… yet.

Sara Gilbert, who plays Barr’s daughter on the ABC sitcom, also issued a statement about the situation:

What are your thoughts about Rosanne’s racist rant & ABC’s decision to cancel her newly rebooted sitcom?
