So you ‘swiped right’ and managed to find your prince in a sea of frogs. He’s cute, funny, witty and downright perfect for you.
It’s a fairytale come true!
[FLASHBACK: Should There Be A ‘Rulebook’ for Facebook Relationships…]
Now fast forward a few years, and you’re happily married and FAT!
Details below…
(Yes, relationship weight gain is real!)
Experts who studied over 169 couples found that you?re more likely to engage in somewhat unhealthier choices when you?re with the one you love.
Also happily married couples tend to gain more weight than others.
This might be because many people associate their weight with their appearance ? something that often becomes less important once they?ve settled down ? over their health.
That is, once you?ve found a mate and are ?off the market,? there?s less incentive for you to invest in your looks by keeping your weight down.
And while the study suggests that ‘cuffed up’ couples tend to eat more healthy compared to singles, a better diet dosen’t translate into a healthier weight, on average.
Part of that may have to do with the fact that men in relationships reported doing less exercise than single men and couples, on average, said that they paid less attention to the amount of fat in their food as well as their own body weights.
