OPEN POST: Stephen Jackson Confronts Man Who Compared Serena Williams to Gorilla… (VIDEO)

There have been a ton of memes and jokes going around after that controversial shooting of a Gorilla who dragged a 4 year-old boy who fell in his pit and some of them aren’t so funny.

While many have gone viral, there are quite a few that have stirred the pot online and off and sparked discussions about racial undertones and how far is ‘too far’.

When it comes to comparing people of color to animals, I would think most would consider that ‘too far,’ however some people (i.e. Ex-RHOA Claudia Jordan, who compared an ex-boyfriend to monkey during a stand up routine) aren’t quite as considerate when they THINK they are being funny.

That being said, former NBA player Stephen Jackson spoke up after a man at his gym thought it was ‘funny’ to liken Serena Williams to the gorilla who got shot at the Cincinnati zoo.

Former NBA player Stephen Jackson recently posted an Instagram video of a confrontation he had with a man at his gym, and it?s both inspiring and disappointing at the same dayum time!

Jackson says that a couple of older white men were joking around about the gorilla being Serena Williams. He debated whether he should confront the man who said it, and finally figured that he pretty much had no choice but to stand up for what’s right.

Jackson states:

?I don?t know Serena, I?ve never met her in my life. But I straight-up told homeboy, ?I heard you, and it?s wrong.? He tried to apologize and said it was a joke.

‘Ain?t no joke. Serena don?t look like a gorilla, and none of us do!’ With that being said, that shit ain?t cool; I had to address it.

He continues…

I felt like I had to say something. That shit aint cool. That’s what’s wrong with the word today. But you never know who’s listening.

Stephen Jackson played 14 seasons in the NBA for eight different teams, among them Golden State (2007-09) and two stints with San Antonio ? winning an NBA title with the Spurs in 2003. He retired following the 2013-14 season with the Clippers.

Salute to Jackson for standing up and addressing what was clearly out of line!
