T.I. Releases ‘DOPE’ Summer Anthem + Cameo Filled Visual To Single… [VIDEO]

Clifford ‘T.I.’ Harris is in for quite an eventful Summer! Not only is he featured in the upcoming Roots remake (click HERE if you missed that) but he’s also prepping for his latest album and recently released what many feel is Summer ’16’s new anthem with the Dr. Dre-produced single ‘DOPE.’

The track, which borrows heavily from a sample of Aaliyah’s 2001 single “Rock the Boat,” is the latest cut off Tip’s upcoming 10th album ‘Dime Trap’ and he’s also unveiled a cameo-filled video for your viewing pleasure.

The video takes place in Los Angeles in the year 2020, and it was director Jesse Terrero’s vision to recreate the Leviticus scene from Empire.

T.I. on working with Dr. Dre:

“Dre’s the homie, to be honest with you,” T.I. told Rolling Stone of working with the legendary producer.

“I’ve never seen somebody so meticulous about music before. The only thing that I can say was a similar experience was when me and Eminem did those songs together. The way [Eminem] is about a verse, that’s how Dre is about production. It’s a very tedious, meticulous, nerve-wracking process. But the outcome is immeasurable. You just can’t describe the difference in the magnitude of production that goes from what we’re used to doing and what he’s used to doing.”

“Dope” is exclusively available on Tidal, which recently inked T.I. as its latest artist-owner. The rapper has not yet cemented the release date for his upcoming ‘Dime Trap’, but when it arrives it’s sure to be a banger!
