O.J. Simpson Weighs in on Cuba Gooding, Jr.’s Appearance in #ThePeopleVsOJSimpson

It’s no secret that ‘The People v. O.J. Simpson’ is an addictive hit, and many are tuned in each week to watch a story play out that we already know the ending to.

It’s quite interesting to see all the a-listers take on the difficult task of recreating a true story,? but according to a recent report, the former football player who actually lived through the drama in ‘real life’ is said to be in agreement with ?the people? when it comes to one common criticism of the popular drama….

O.J. Simpson feels that Cuba Gooding Jr. looks absolutely nothing like O.J. Simpson.

Details below…

O.J. reportedly shared his feelings about Cuba Gooding’s role with one of the prison guards at?Lovelock Correctional Center, where ‘the Juice’ is currently serving time.

Jeffrey Felix, a now former guard from the correctional facility, is hoping to profit from his time with Simpson and is hawking a book titled ‘Guarding the Juice.’

Felix tells Page Six that Simpson feels ?[Gooding?s] not tall enough and his head is too small. O.J. has a huge head.?

Felix also confirms that Simpson hasn’t seen the series because the facility does not get FX. But Simpson has presumably seen Cuba Gooding, Jr. in other roles, and has sources on the outside who have been keeping him in the loop about the drama.

?He can?t watch it, but he?s heard a lot about it,? Felix said. ?He?s hearing it from the guards. He?s hearing it from Khlo? Kardashian and from ?A.C.? Cowlings.?

For the record, Khlo? Kardashian told viewers of her talk-show on Monday that she hasn’t seen the series yet, explaining:

?I’m a little more sensitive to it, cause he was my Uncle O.J., like that’s always what I called him. So just hearing things, or I might remember things differently.?

Simpson also has other complaints about the series as well… ie the fact that the story suggests he’s guilty of murdering ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

One episode shows O.J. taking a lie detector test, and getting a minus 24.

?That?s a complete flunk,? Felix said. ?But O.J. told me [years ago] he passed the lie detector.?

Also according to OJ’s prison guard friend, the slow-speed/white Bronco chase scene in the FX series totally missed the mark about why Simpson decided not to commit suicide.

Felix explains:

?The only reason he didn?t shoot himself in the head in the Bronco is that he saw a kid on the side of the road holding a sign saying, ?We Heart You Juice!??

Gooding’s lack of resemblance isn’t the only issue with his portrayal of the fallen athlete. In fact, the NYPost notes that the actor’s acting has actually made a despicable ‘real life’ character boring!

Part 1 of the ?problem,? so to speak, is that Gooding doesn?t look anything like Simpson. Not by a long shot. Normally, that?s not always a hindrance, since good makeup helps, particularly if an actor doesn?t quite resemble their real-life subject.

On the other hand, viewers forget about all of that if an actor?s interpretation is so absorbing that Hollywood artifice becomes a non-issue.

It’s true… Cuba’s acting could have reeled us in and made up for the appearance factor. Instead, it’s got us all waiting for Courtney Vance’s Johnny Cochran impression to entertain us.
