Mega church pastor Bishop Eddie Long ditched his toupe? and hit the pulpit of New Birth Missionary Church last Sunday to thank his congregation for standing by him during his hard times.

A teary-eyed Eddie Long then admitted during the service that he once considered taking his own life when he was going through that Gay sex scandal a few years back, but he thanked his church and it’s faithful followers for standing by him.
When I was being condemned from the four corners of the earth, I had a moment… I had a moment where I wanted to kill myself. And I was ready.
What kept me was not a scripture.? What kept me, was that every time I showed up here, you were here.

A tearful and trembling Long states in the video above that he did not take his life because ?my family loved me, my church loved me?regardless of what anybody said, love lifted me and carried me. And you didn?t judge me. There are folk here who know what I mean, that you?re alive because somebody loved you. They didn?t give you a sermon, they didn?t question you, they didn?t call you before a council.?
He tells the congregation ?there is no greater power than the power of love? and says he honored them.
Long also said he wanted to release the love showered over him and his family and condemns social media for judging him during his hard times:
?We have no right or justification to kill one another on social media, especially when you don?t know,? he said.
?And if we?re going to be saints, if we?re really going to move into the things God has, let?s love one another. ?
