Miss Piggy & Kermit Talk ‘Break-Ups’ & Tinder Dating on The Jimmy Kimmel Show (VIDEO)

NEWSFLASH! Miss Piggy & Kermit The Frog appeared side by side for the first time since announcing their break-up this past Summer.

The former lovers appeared on The Jimmy Kimmel Show late last night to promo their new ABC show.

Leading up to the show?s premiere, ABC?s promo campaign focused on Kermit and Miss Piggy?s alleged breakup and subsequent rebound relationships.? Kermit has a new (younger) love interest and Piggy revealed she’s using Tinder to schedule her daily dates.

ABC has revived ?The Muppets,? for a new 30-minute series, which marks the 70?s-era characters? first regular television program in nearly 20 years.

But if parents think the show is strictly for kids, think again!? The New York Times reports that it will feel a lot like ?30 Rock,? mockumentary-style with quick-zoom reaction shots and confessional cutaways.? It will also focus on a bit more? ‘grown-up’ topics than the 70’s version.

I’m honestly looking forward to watching The Muppets and judging from their marketing campaign, ABC is clearly targeting an adult-based group of viewers.

During their appearance on Kimmel, Kermit joked about the porcine star?s promiscuity, saying that she’s dating ‘anybody’ and even addressed his younger love interest, calling her ‘old enough’.

All of the adult-themes appearing in the promos is what’s irking the One Million Moms, a family values group that wants ABC to cancel the show.

While many nostalgic Americans are looking forward to the return of the Muppets to network television on Tuesday, one group is less than thrilled, deriding the new, more adult-themed show featuring the beloved 1970?s felt puppets as ?perverted? and calling on ABC to can the program: the pro-family One Million Moms.

So the group has launched a petition to warn parents ?The Muppets? was not the family-friendly program its 1970?s predecessor was.

?1MM (One Million Moms) suspects there are going to be a lot of shocked moms and dads when they discover that the family-friendly Muppets of the 1970s are no more. It appears that no subject is off limits,? the group says in the petition, in which it provides a phone number to call ABC to pressure the network to cancel the show. ?The puppet characters loved by kids in the 1970s and 1980s and beyond are now weighing in on abortion and promiscuity,? it continues.

?ABC has ruined ?The Muppets,? claim the One Million Moms. (That group was the one behind the boycott in 2012 of J.C. Penney when that retailer featured same-sex couples in its inserts.) (source)

It’s true, there does seem to be a more adult feel to the show, but I suspect that ABC isn’t targeting kids, but the Gen Xers and Baby Boomers who grew up loving the Muppets and want to relive a bit of their childhood in an updated manner once a week.

The One Million Moms’ petition is actually inadvertently bringing publicity to a show ABC has a lot riding on…. I’ll be tuning in just to see what they are claiming is ‘perversion.’
