T.I. Speaks On Parting Ways w/ Iggy Azalea + Why ‘ATL 2’ Movie Project Stalled… [VIDEO]

Clifford ‘T.I.’ Harris recently appeared on Ebro in the Morning on NYC’s Hot 97 where he discussed several topics, one of which was his decision to part ways with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.

The Grand Hustle front man admits there are no hard feelings, but their biz relationship is officially over. When asked what the breaking point was in his decision, Tip noted Iggy’s infamous response to Q-Tip as the turning point (click HERE if you missed that).

“After the Q-Tip thing, after I kind of had smoothed it over, like okay, ‘What is really meant to be said here is…’ After it was cool, everything was cool, and then they kind of came back and undid what I had just [accomplished].

I’ma be all the way real: I’m a loyal partner. If I rock with you I’m gon’ rock with you…I really do feel that they just needed a little more time to adjust, which I feel they can do. They have the talent, they have the charisma.”

Meanwhile, Tip is back on his grind and he also discussed why ATL2 has stalled + his newly release EP, ‘The Nic,’ which was released September 11, 2015.

Tip also addresses the ATL movie sequel, ‘ATL2,’ stating:

I had taken it upon myself to grab the reins of the franchise that had been left laying dormant for 9 and a half years. And took it upon myself to gather the cast, connect us with the director, get permission from the studio to do certain things.

To be quite honest, once it got involved with other members on the executive side, it got real cloudy.

Once it got to a certain executive producer, it just slowed up.

He goes on to say…

There was too many cooks in the kitchen. I don’t think nobody can get it done like I was getting it done.

I can handle the finances. I got the money, I’ve got the cast, I got the director… I’ve got all that.

So what’s the problem with getting ATL2 done?? T.I. explains it as follows:

They would rather see it do nothing than do someone do it that’s not them.

Welp… I guess that means don’t hold your breath for an ATL2 release anytime soon. *sigh*

FYI – T.I.’s new EP’s ‘The Nic’ is available now on iTunes:
