One on One w/ #RHOA Kandi Burruss: Talks Spin Offs, Xscape Reunion, Nene ‘Beef’ & More… [PHOTOS + VIDEO]

Kandi Burruss of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was kind enough to sit down with me for a one on one session about a week ago.

We discussed just about everything you can imagine… from her 3-part ‘Ski Trip’ spin off drama (which was resolved quite nicely in the finale – CLICK HERE if you missed that) to topics like Xscape (will there ever be a reunion?), and RHOA reunion show drama (what’s the beef between Kandi & Nene? Is she still BFF’s w/ Phaedra Parks?). Kandi?answered EVERYTHING!

For the record, I wanted to do this interview because I’d HEARD that Kandi was feeling some kinda way about some things that I’d said in some of my recaps this season.

Whatever the case, we both got a chance to clear the air and she was definitely honest about her feelings.

Check out what Kandi has to say about all of the above in our in-depth one-on-one interview below…

VIDEO 1: Kandi talks ‘Ski Trip’ & Future Plans…

In the video above, Kandi talks about her Ski Trip spin off, her take on ‘unmarried housewives’ & continuing her ‘Kandi Factory’ legacy by signing new artists.

Kandi also reveals that she and her hubby, Todd Tucker are actually working on several other spin-offs.

For the record, Kandi holds the record as the housewife with the most spin-offs. Her list includes The Kandi Factory, Kandi’s Wedding, Kandi’s Ski Trip and now she’s been greenlit for another project which is unnamed at the moment. Kandi also revealed that she and Todd are working on a movie!

Gotta give the woman her props, she’s definitely in ‘mogul’ mode!

As far as music is concerned, Kandi revealed that she’s signed a few artist to her ‘Kandi Koated Entertainment’ label and she’s currently working on two teen groups: One all girl’s group (Glamour) and one mixed (girl/guy) group (Loud).

You know I had to throw a bit of ‘shade’ about all the ‘unmarried’ housewives on the show last season and Kandi gave me the politically correct answer, stating:

I went a couple of years without being in a relationship so I can’t talk about the whole ‘married’ vs. unmarried thing…

She also addressed how it’s hard to recruit Atlanta ‘housewives,’ stating:

It’s hard to get people who really have some stuff going on, who would be interesting got see… that are from here… it’s hard to get them to be a part of it.

VIDEO 2: Kandi Talks Xscape Reunion (Will She? or Nah?)

Kandi on possibly reuniting with Xcsape:

Honestly before him (Michael Mauldin) having the conversation, I wasn’t really open to the idea. Because… obviously people know I had some deep feelings about something one of my former group members said, but I heard she apologized… so I’m cool, and past that.

But for me… I’m more open to performing togehter because as far as like, recording together… a lot of those groups come together and it doesn’t sell the same way.

We had multiple platinum albums. We never had a flop album as a group, so I would hate to mess that up by tryna make a comeback and it doesn’t do the same… why mess up the legacy?

VIDEO 3: Kandi Talks RHOA Drama (What’s the Beef?)

Of course I couldn’t leave without addressing all of the blawg chatter about how Kandi was ‘jealous’ of Nene and her budding friendship with Phaedra Parks.

In the video above, Kandi address the season 7 reunion show drama, how she felt about Nene’s emotional breakdown and why she kept it all the way real on the set by NOT going to comfort someone she had been arguing with on set for hours.

It’s like a 16 hour day, she and I had multiple arguments throughout the day. We had argued that whole day…

My whole thing is… if I’m arguing with you the whole day, I AM THE LAST person you want over there doing this to you! (pats shoulder)

Now you know she don’t really mess with me like that, so…what she want me over there patting her on the back for?

Kandi on why she was so adamant with Phaedra about why she was confiding in Nene…

I’m like, if we’re supposed to be cool, why didn’t I know we had a problem.

You felt comfortable to talk to them but you couldn’t talk to me??

Y’all sit here and watch this show but at the end of the day, you need to realize that I know the REAL opinions as far as the off conversations that people have as far as how the feel about each other. So in my mind, I’m like… ‘why are you even talking to her’?

It had nothing to do with my feelings about Nene.

Kandi on her friendship with Phaedra…

Y’all have seen on the show… my BEST friends are Kwame, Tam & Carmon. Phaedra is a great friend… love her to death but I’m not going to be jealous about who she hangs with.

As far as ‘the beef’ between Kandi & Nene I asked but I don’t know if I actually got an answer. What I did get was Kandi telling me that their lack of support of each other is mutual… and she’s totally ok with that.

Kandi on accusations she never supports Nene Leakes…

I’m gonna make one more last point… I get so sick of people saying this, ‘you don’t support Nene and blah blah blah’…

I love everything that she’s accomplished… I think that it’s wonderful. I think it’s great.. but IT SHOULD BE A MUTUAL SUPPORT!!!

Y’all don’t pay attention… when she had her wedding show, I posted about it, told people to watch it. Before she even asked anyone to, I posted about it.

When she had her clothing line, I posted about it told people to check out her clothing line.

BUT WHEN HAS SHE EVER POSTED ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING I HAVE DONE… EVER???

So when you guys are on my timeline talking about I don’t support her, when has she supported me? NEVER! NEVER!

It’s ok that she doesn’t, she doesn’t have to. But don’t make it seem like I’m the bad guy!! She won’t even give a Happy Birthday post to anyone on the show. So don’t go judging me!

Alrighty then… Kandi got me right together and left me speechless after that one. 😆

I’d like to thank Kandi again for having the conversation and shout out to Tresa Sanders (TreMedia) for coordinating our sit down!

What do you think of Kandi’s candor??

Do you agree with her take on the Nene/Phaedra situation??

Special thanks to Chris Mitchell (CME3000) for the videography!
