Apparently Smith?has almost $12,000 in unpaid property taxes for the Atlanta home he shares with his ex, Monyetta Shaw?(Atlanta Exes), and he’s just been hit with a tax lien.
Is Ne-Yo having?financial difficulties or is he merely preparing to ‘clean house’ by booting his ‘Atlanta Ex’ from his crib.
The City of Atlanta filed a lien against Ne-Yo last month in Georgia court, accusing him of failing to pay a total of $11,721.38 for property taxes for his Atlanta home.
The lien, which will continue to grow with interest until Ne-Yo pays off the debt, states that the lien will be placed against the property and if the singer sells off?the home?ALL unpaid?tax debt?he owes the city of Atlanta will be paid to them BEFORE he collects on any profits from the sale of the pad.
As is customary, Ne-Yo could face the home being sold off at foreclosure, if he doesn?t pay the property taxes.
The real ‘tea’ in this situation is WHY the taxes have gone unpaid because I’m almost positive that Ne-Yo’s well isn’t running dry any time soon.
As you know, Ne-Yo’s baby mama/girlfriend Monyetta still resides in the home, which was featured on the reality show, Atlanta Exes, and was content in staying there with her two kids even after the breakup.
My theory on the tax lien is this…
I suspect that Ne-Yo could be pulling Mo’s ‘player card’ by shaking up her comfy living situation.
While jealously could be a factor, it’s a moot point. Their two kids are now school aged and while Monyetta used to be a boutique?owner, now she’s merely an Atlanta ‘socialite.’

Ne-Yo’s probably come to the realization that he’s not just supporting his kids, he’s financing his ex’s lifestyle and if his new boo has anything to do with it, that’s going to stop pretty soon… just ask Tameka Raymond.
Meanwhile…
Is Ne-Yo having money problems or is he pulling an ‘Usher’?
