In the season 2 premiere episode titled, ‘People in Glass Houses Shouldn’t Throw Fish’ (yeah they really titled it that), we find Mary Jane (Gabrielle Union) obsessed with getting ‘closure’ from her failed relationship with David (Stephen Bishop).

Her determination to uncover the intimate details about the relationship’s demise is weird and it’s almost like her year-long extramarital affair with fine azzz Omari Hardwick never existed.

In a recent interview, Mara Brock Akil, the creator of the hit show, refers to it as Mary Jane “being an investigative reporter about her own story.”

“She has to know why. Why did you leave me?” Akil says of Mary Jane’s dogged pursuit of why David has moved on.

“She needs to know why. It’s gonna be painful, but she has to go there.”

It’s also revealed WHY the successful career woman is so loopy and hell bent on knowing all the facts…

We find out that MJ aborted the child of the love of her life, who is now choosing to stay with a woman he doesn’t really love?only because she’s knocked up. *sigh*

In case you missed it, watch ‘Being Mary Jane’ S2, Ep1 below…

Yes… you read right, Mary Jane discovers that David is with Anna only because Anna is pregnant. Viewers also find out that Mary Jane and David once made a decision to abort their own child, which gives the ‘sperm stealing’ incident from season 1 an added layer of explanation.

It also makes Anna’s pregnancy news that much more upsetting to the childless career woman.

“A lot of people are bonded through having children, but [Mary Jane and David] are bonded through the abortion of a child, and now it’s defining why David is moving forward with this new woman,” explains Akil.

“Mary Jane and David weren’t on the same page, which is where a lot of people live — they love each other, but they can’t stay on the same page and live a life together. But it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other.”

Ok… so?now I’m assuming that Mary Jane’s role as a ‘side-chick’ will take on a plot twist… meaning her ‘married dude’ is gone (Omari Hardwick) but now she’ll most likely become involved in another triangle between David and his pregnant baby-mama to-be.

MJ’s friend Kara tells her during the premiere that it ‘takes twice as long to untangle your heart as you spent loving the person who broke it’. ?That’s a whole lotta time if you’re talmbout your high-school or college sweetheart!

So if you ‘love’ someone for 6 years it will take 12 to get back right?? Jeez! Who has that kinda time??

Mary Jane is having a tough time moving on and she even drags David’s friends, Chris & Valerie (portrayed by BMJ newbies Chris Spencer and Salli Richardson-Whitfield) into the fracas by inquiring about when and where he met Anna. ?She’s seeking closure, but ends up humiliated when Chris dials David’s number and puts her on the phone.

In addition to her crazy love life, we also find that Mary Jane is still surrounded by family issues as well.

Her neice has had her 2nd child and is still jobless with no education. ?Her youngest brother is still living at home while selling dope and tricking, and her oldest brother, a Morehouse graduate who hit hard times after an addiction to drugs, is now forced to work as a security guard to make ends meet.

Will Mary Jane ever?be able to have the life of her dreams or is she destined to live in a glass house throwing fish?
