Clifford ‘T.I.’ Harris is branching outside of music and acting to embark on a totally new venture… food & customer service!
According to a press release received from Tip’s camp, Harris is now the proud owner of an undisclosed downtown Atlanta building and he’s currently rehabbing the spot to fit his vision of an upscale restaurant.
More details about T.I.’s new restaurant below…
ATLANTA, GA—Historic Downtown Atlanta will be home to T.I.?s first restaurant venture. The renovation and refurbishing process of the landmark property is well underway, as plans for the new upscale Southern cuisine restaurant unfolds.
An official announcement, sharing complete details is planned for the coming weeks.
T.I. follows the likes of Atlanta industry vets Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Jermaine Dupri and Christopher ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, who both went in (and out of) the restaurant business in Atlanta.
Diddy’s ‘Justin’s’ restaurant was once an Atlanta staple, but it closed in back in 2012. Jermaine once owned a healthy vegan soul food spot called ‘Cafe Dupri,’ which closed it’s doors back in 2008, while Luda was once the proud owner of ‘Straits’ restaurant, which he shut down in 2012 after securing a contract to serve ‘Chicken & Beer’ in the Atlanta airport.
I write all of that to say this…? restaurants around this town come a dime a dozen and many open and close within a few years because there a so many choices.? There are restaurants that aren’t so ‘upscale’ whose food is AMAZING while other restaurants have good and or decent food with a wonderful atmosphere but lousy customer service.
And about customer service… can you imagine Tip responding to a customer complaint about his food??? For the record tho, he’s making an effort in 2015 to be kindler & gentler in his responses, and posted the following recently:
T.I.’s new restaurant may be different, and could certainly draw the crowds that Diddy’s once did.? Only time will tell who will all be down for visiting T.I.’s new eatery… (and honest enough to complain if it sucks). 🙂
