We often hear tales of extraordinary good deeds, but I don’t think any will come close to this one.

Jason Brown, pictured above is a former NFL player who left behind a $37 million contract in order to do something he has never done before: become a farmer!

But the former St. Louis Rams center isn’t just doing it because he likes food.? In fact, he plans to donate much of the crops from his 1000 acre North Carolina farm to help feed the hungry!

When I think about a life of greatness… I think about a life of service.

VIDEO: Jason Brown Quits Football To Farm…

According to CBS News, Jason Brown quit his lucrative football to become a full-time farmer and he’s now is on a mission to feed the North Caroline residents who are hungry.

Brown purchased 1,000 acres of farm land and has started growing crops like sweet potatoes and cucumbers.

?My agent told me, ?You?re making the biggest mistake of your life,?? Brown told CBS. ?And I looked right back at him and I said, ?No I?m not. No I?m not.??

The former footballer has no experience in farming but learned the tricks of the trade from none other than watching videos on YouTube.? He also spent time researching and gathering advice from local farmers.

Brown has named his farm, the ?First Fruits Farm,? and plans to donate the first fruits of every harvest to area food pantries.

For the record, Brown has already shown & proved.? He just recently harvested of a five acre plot of sweet potatoes; a whopping 100,000 pounds of food, which he’s donated to the needy.

As for leaving football behind, Brown says he’s never felt more successful and revealed that his plan was inspired by God.
