The ATLien’s landed in Vegas and I, along with several of Big Boi & Dre’s family, friends & supporters, attended this weekend’s performance. Antwan ‘Big Boi’ Patton and Andre ‘3-Stacks’ Benjamin took the Vegas stage and totally took over!
While I have to say nothing tops their Atlanta concerts, it’s clear THE WHOLE WORLD loves ‘Kast and the diverse crowd in Vegas couldn’t get enough of the hip-hop powerhouses.
Check out a few photos + video clips of Outkast’s Vegas take-over under the cut…
I attended Saturday night’s concert, which featured performances by The Roots, Lionel Richie and more. ?But it was Outkast that the crowed was waiting for.
The group started out with their crowd raising hit ?B.O.B.? (Bombs over Baghdad) and continued with ?Rosa Parks? and ?Ms. Jackson? during their opening segment that included both members onstage. Then the pair spit up for a few solo performances.
Big Boi hit the stage for ?The Way You Move? (ft. Sleepy Brown) & ‘Kryptonite’….
…while ?Andr?? 3000 (whose message that evening was ‘I just wanna sleep’) brought out a few fans to ‘SHAKE IT’ like a polaroid pick-cha to ?Hey Ya!.?
The pair reunited onstage for ?Roses,? ?So Fresh, So Clean? (ft. Sleepy Brown), ?The Whole World? (which was missing Killer Mike) and “I Choose You.”
Dre & Big also took the crowd back to 1994’s Southernplayalisticcadillacmuzik?as they cue’d up their classic hit, ?Player?s Ball.”
As with all of their previous festivals (including their hometown of Atlanta), Outkast performed with a large colorful Farris wheel as their backdrop.
The final concert is in New Orleans next week for the 3-day Voodoo Festival (Oct 31-Nov2) and if you haven’t caught ‘Kast live onstage by now, I would suggest you pack your backs and travel.
You didn’t hear this from me.. but word on the curb is that this could possibly be the last time these two perform onstage… (ever!) so I, for one, am taking it all in.
