In the interview, aired on DC radio WPGC, Neyo first addressed that fact that he has no ill will towards his ex, who also happens to be the mother of his two young children.
?I have to go on record by saying me and Monyetta Shaw have no beef, we are not enemies in any way shape or fashion,? he admits before continuing,
?The romantic element of our relationship is over but that is my partner, we?re raising these children together.?
While it was a mutual decision for Monyetta to have the birth control procedure, many blamed Ne-Yo for making the decision to end their relationship after the procedure.
This is the thing that I don?t like, ?Ne-Yo says. ?She says, and I quote, ?As a family we decided we didn?t want any more children.? People took that and turned it into ?Ne-Yo beat up Monyetta and forced her to tie her tubes then left her the next day.'”
People take her words and make their own opinions on it, he says, but confirms they both made the mutual decision while at the doctor?s office. In fact, he said he gave her all the power in deciding.
?We made that decision feeling like we were going to be together forever, things happen, mistakes are made, we didn?t wind up being together forever.?
As the story plays out, perhaps Monyetta will get some good news, but in the meantime, all we know is she got her tubes ‘burned’ and can’t have kids, while Ne-Yo is free to go on and have more kids, if he so chooses.
Yes… it’s still selfish. Regardless of how ‘mutual’ the decision was initially.? But I digress.
Later, on Ne-Yo issued another statement to the general public:
?I?ve made my apologies to the people I feel I wronged. I was forgiven by those people. Anybody else passing judgment on me for my past mistakes and immaturities is more than welcome to it.?
