Something about this downtown Atlanta sign just isn’t right…
I’m the first one to admit that my spelling can be questionable at times but the sign for exit 249C in downtown Atlanta directed drivers to “Ga Dome/Aquairium” yesterday.
It was apparently intended to point the way towards the Georgia Aquarium, one of the city’s biggest tourist attractions, but whoever built the sign made a spelling error that wasn’t caught until WXIA-TV pointed it out online.

A day later, the sign was replaced with a corrected one, but not before thousands of Georgia drivers had a good laugh. ?I’m sure it was became a huge embarrassment for whoever was in charge of ‘signage’ over at the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Corrected sign…
A mistake on a prominent sign over the Downtown Connector in Atlanta has been corrected.
Georgia Department of Transportation spokesperson Natalie Dale said was the work of a subcontractor who builds the signs for them. The work order was put in with correct spelling, Dale said.
The subcontractor replaced it Wednesday at no cost to the DOT or the taxpayers, Dale said.
