Peter Thomas , husband of supermodel Cynthia Bailey of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is certainly NOT one to hold his tongue… as evidenced by his outspoken nature on the popular reality show.

Thomas, a Jamaican native, has even earned himself an honorary peach for dippin his nose in ‘housewives’ business but he’s often explained that there would be no ‘housewife’ without a husband by her side.

Peter proudly supports the RHOA franchise and recently offered a bit of insight on why their show is different from other ratchet ‘reality’ shows, stating:

Being black men on reality TV isn?t an easy task to manage.?But I feel like our responsibility as black men on this show is to project a more positive image for young black men.

We aren?t perfect, but for the most part we certainly are not being as foolish as some of the other black men on reality TV.

But wait… there’s more!

Peter goes on to say.

?We are not Love and Hip Hop, ok? We are not on that bullshit,? he says. ?Good for them. I?m really cool with some of those guys. But I take my responsibility much more seriously and it?s not to project that foolishness that they have going on.?

For the record, Peter is way cool with several members of LHHATL so I’m assuming that words weren’t meant to knock anyone else?s hustle, but Thomas says some of the images being portrayed on those other reality shows are merely entertainment and they feed in to the pervasively negative stereotypes of the African-American community.

Through his RHOA platform, Peter hopes to show the world a relatively positive display of black marriages.? And it’s evident that it’s working, being that he husbands? popularity has been increasing each season.

Thomas proudly speaks of his worldwide popularity, stating:

?It?s evident that the show goes beyond the borders of the US,? he says. ?People come to barOne from Europe, from Africa to check us out. I?ve been told ?Oh my God I watch this show in Istanbul. We love you in London

[Sidebar: So I guess it’s safe to say that Cynthia and Peter will both be back next season… 🙂 ]
