An Ohio woman is suing the University of Cincinnati Medical Center after her medical records were posted to a Facebook group called ‘Team No Hoes.’
The unnamed woman found her medical information on ‘Team No Hoes’ after she went to the hospital to get screened for a sexually transmitted disease.
The private Facebook group named the woman as a “slut” and “hoe” and publicised the fact that she had tested positively for an STD. The post also featured identifying information.
The woman is now suing the hospital for over $25,000 in damages.
Her lawyer, Mike Allen, says that the woman is absolutely devastated, and that the events have had significant consequences upon her life.
“She doesn’t want to go out”, he said, “She doesn’t want to talk to people. People who were formerly her friends have made fun of her for it. She’s chastised in the community and all of this could’ve been avoided if UC Med Center had proper protections in place.”
The hospital is aware of the lawsuit but is making no comments at this time.
“We have not received a copy of the lawsuit but we will certainly investigate it and we cannot comment on pending litigation,” UC Medical Center spokeswoman Diana Lara said.
