But despite all the hoopla, a few weeks ago it was reported that Big was working on another solo album.

Big Boi caught up with the Huffington Post while in NYC performing during the official launch of GREY GOOSE Le Melon at The New York Public Library, where he revealed signing with Reid’s Epic Records, stating:
I just signed a deal with Epic Records, so I’m back with L.A. Reid and Sylvia Rhone. Got a brand new situation. I signed the deal the day after the first Coachella date, that Saturday.
The album I’m not gonna rush. I wanted to put something out before the end of the year.
It depends, because me and Dre got a lot of work to do from now until the end of October. [But] you’re definitely going to get some brand new Big Boi material. Two or three singles before the fall.
Reid is actually responsible for signing OutKast to their first deal back in 1992, when he was the founder and CEO of LaFace Records (1989-2000). He also took Big Boi under his wing when he sat as CEO of Island Def Jam, signing him to that label as a solo artist in 2008.
In 2011, Reid moved to Epic Records, and now he’s taking his longtime protege along with him.
On his connection with Reid, Big Boi said:
That’s my mentor. He understands my music. And one thing about L.A. Reid, there are no creative restraints. He trusts my ear and let’s me make the music I want to make.
We love being in business together. That’s my big brother.
