RECAP: What REALLY Happened At STK Between Mariah & Quad – Married to Medicine, Season 2, Ep3 [FULL VIDEO]

Married to Medicine aired the 3rd episode of it’s 2nd season last night (April 20, 2014) and we finally get to find out why Quad Webb-Lunceford and Maria Huq’s friendship has dissipated.

Bravo synopsis:

A peace summit between Quad and Mariah turns into explosive confrontation that quickly spreads across the medical community. Dr. Jackie meets with Dr. Heavenly to hash out their issues, but realizes it?s not exactly the resolution she was hoping for. Meanwhile, Toya hosts a birthday party for her son; its all fun and games until Quad and Mariah?s feud becomes the talk of the party

It seems that after Quad became the ‘fan favorite’ last year, her good friend Mariah is feeling some kinda way. The tension between them exploded last September?at STK in Atlanta right in front of my eyes.

Y’all know I try not to play sides (insert side-eye) but when it comes to what REALLY happened at STK, it’s Quad who told the truth.

[Sidebar: I happened to have been the ‘friend’ who missed the catch and Mariah’s Celine bag ended up on the floor.]

From my perspective it was all Mariah and her tunnel vision. All she sees is her own success and being that Quad had been talking to executive producers outside of her presence, Mariah was not happy.

Reco Chapple, Funky Dineva and I all tried to get the two ladies to discuss their issues one on one in the back of the restaurant, but Mariah had been drinking earlier and could barely stand up.

There were a few words exchanged and both ladies admitted that they loved each other and missed their friend, but Mariah began to get upset saying that Quad had been doing things behind her back that wasn’t cool.

The conversation got heated and I recall Quad saying something like ‘Mariah wants to keep me beneath her’… we all agreed that the ladies should all meet somewhere else. It was Monday night at STK and Monday nights is like ‘club night’ in that spot. There was no where in the building that was secluded and the two were getting louder by the minute.

Quad was a part of a group at the restaurant who had assembled for dinner, so she retreated back to her table and Mariah was still having problems standing so Reco suggested she have a seat for a moment.

That ‘moment’ turned into chaos when the two began bickering. I’m not sure what was said but I saw Mariah hitting Quad on her back and yelling.

My good friend Funky Dineva wrote about the entire incident when it happened (click HERE if you missed that) and while I didn’t want to get in the middle of Mariah & Quad’s drama, I was smack dabb in the middle when I had to follow Funky Dineva to Mariah’s house when he volunteered to drive her home in her car.

It was only my 2nd time meeting both Mariah and Quad, so I felt like the impartial party. I spoke with Mariah one on one and Quad one on one and I came up with this… Mariah is insanely jealous and can’t control it. Period.

Maybe the ladies will make up in time… maybe they won’t. But the fact of the matter is that reality television has broken up many a ‘relationship’ in ‘REAL LIFE’.

It’s sad really….

On a lighter note, Lisa Nicole Cloud was introduced this episode and her fellow ‘newbie’ Dr. Heavenly Kimes continues to entertain.
