The Real Housewives of Atlanta aired the 21st episode of the 6th season last night (April 6, 2014).

This week, the ladies are back in ‘work mode’ as each of them return to managing their daily lives. Porsha Stewart Williams faces work issues with Kandi Burruss’ play.

Mama Joyce returns to work out her issues with Kandi’s fiancee through counseling and last but not least… Kenya Moore works through her sorrow as her dog dies.

Porsha seems to have bit off a bit more than she can chew with Kandi’s play. ?Kandi gave Porsha the role hoping that she could pull if off, but it seems Porsha has been slacking on rehearsals.
Pierre, the producer, works with Porsha in the recording studio and can’t seem to pull emotion out of her vocals.
Lark, Kandi’s stage manager has sent Kandi and email roasting Porsha about her work ethic so?Kandi is not only feeling emotion, she’s feeling irritated about Porsha’s lack of enthusiasm with the project.
Porsha states there was some sort of miscommunication between her and Kandi’s “team”… (cue crickets)… and she gets her sister Lauren on the phone to clarify.
After the conversation, it’s clear that it was Porsha’s ‘team,’ ie her sister Lauren, who dropped the ball.
Porsha says she’s going to do better but Kandi on the other hand… still has the understudy on standby. You know… just in case.
This week, NeNe travels out to LA to meet with her manager and it seems she’s getting all of her ducks in a row now that she’s lost one of her hollywood rolls.
NeNe makes it clear to her manager that she wants to work.
She has a clothing line coming up on The Home Shopping Network and the manager brings a few sketches for review.
Nene’s manager also wants to discuss why she has passed on several comedy rolls that have come her way. But nene express that comedy isn’t the direction she wants to go in.
As an actress, I am presented with all kinds of offers. ?Television… for film… for theatre. ?And everything isn’t right for me.?I’ve left millions of dollars on the table.
I just choose to do things that I feel will elevate me, as opposed to things that will keep me in the same place.
Nene seems to feel that comedy comes easy to her, so she wants to add a few dramatic roles to her resume.
Bailey sits down with Thomas to discuss the issue after she reads about it on a blog. (Sidebar… someone sent me an email back in August 2013 about the foreclosure and I suspect, I may have been the source of Bailey’s inquiry.)

At any rate, as I said then, Bar one isn’t in foreclosure due to Peter Thomas’ lack of rental payments and he explains the issue to Cynthia this week on the show.
It’s a sticky situation being that Peter has been instructed to pay his rental payments into escrow since the owners of the building stopped paying the mortgage.
Peter assures Cynthia that it will all work out and so far it has, since Bar One is still open today… but who knows what the future holds.
Kenya Moore wants to be liked and it seems that she’s tried everything under the sun to get the RHOA audience on her side.
This week, Kenya’s dog Velvet ?(the same dog she was rumored to have abandoned when she got evicted) is mysteriously attacked by her neighbor’s dog.
Kenya’s Aunt Sisq??Lori comes to her rescue to after Moore’s beloved Velvet passed away after 7 years.
I can empathize with Kenya being that I had to put my dog down after 22 years but after all of her previous antics, it’s a bit hard to believe she’s being genuine.
Remember… this is Kenya Moore, we’re talking about. ?The same ‘housewife’ who had a fake boyfriend, fake BFF (Marlo) and who even carried around a fake baby last week! ?Should we not be open to the idea of a fake pet funeral?
Velvet might be posted up somewhere chillin, eating scooby snacks. But I’ll play along since Kenya cried real tears.
Kenya’s Aunt gives her a few words of wisdom as says that maybe Velvet’s ‘death’ is preparing space for someone else in her life.
Moore also decided to share the bad news with two of her castmates. Cynthia and Kandi meet Kenya for lunch where she reveals the bad news and also invites them to her memorial service.
Moving on.
Kandi and Mama Joyce meet with a counselor who splits the two up to hear each of their sides.
Momma Joyce reveals that she believes Todd has a hidden agenda but doesn’t clearly state why she feels the way she does (except for the fact that Kandi has gained 30lbs).
At the end of the session, Kandi and Mama Joyce share a loving embrace.?All Kandi wants is for her mother to accept her relationship with Todd.

Momma Joyce comes to the venue to check out rehearsals and it seems the perfect time for a chat with her future son-in-law.
Todd and Joyce talk things out in the lobby and Todd admits that he hopes that one day Joyce might learn to love him.

Mama Joyce also admits that since she may be a bit over protective and it seems that maybe she’s softening up a bit to Todd.
Are things finally heading in the right direction between Kandi’s mom and her future husband?
