VIDEO: Being Mary Jane – Episode #7

The episode begins with Mary Jane and Andre battling it out over dinner.? The live-in couple is now dealing with ‘real life’ issues like trust, jealousy and family problems.

Andre accuses Mary Jane of cheating with her ex-boyfriend David after he sees them together in the background of a photo, jealousy rears it’s ugly head as Andre starts an argument about it, but the root of the problem seems to be that he’s having issues dealing with the fact that he’s away from his kids, who text him day and night.

The couple has their first major argument which ends when Andre walks out the door and Mary Jane follows, pleading with him to stay.

Andre returns the next morning but his apology gets interrupted by a visit from Mary Jane’s younger brother, Paul Jr., who’s in trouble with the cops.

Baby brother peddles marijuana, but he used to be a star student with a promising future.? Andre gets him out of trouble this time, but Mary Jane wants him back on the right track.

In an effort to ‘buy’ baby brother out of the drug business, MJ offers to cut him a check for $5,000. Insulted, Paul, Jr. retorts that MJ is always trying to use her money to save the family… but not this time.

Mary Jane’s pregnant niece wants to get her tubes tied. She?s hoping Doctor Lisa (Mary Jane’s best friend) will perform the procedure for her, stating ?I want what the white women get.?

MJ’s niece seems to have the right idea because apparently pills, the ring and other forms of birth control have all failed her. She’s 19 years old and having her 2nd child by a man who seems be be an absentee father.

Mary Jane tries to talk her out of wanting the procedure, stating ?Kids your age are in college ? you have the rest of your life to have babies.? but when the niece responds ‘Like You?’, Mary Jane seems to have a moment of clarity..

On the other side of town, MJ’s co-worker Cara’s life is unraveling as her ex-husband reveals he wants primary custody of their 2 sons. Cara now faces the fact that her career has taken over her life and even her kids pint out that she’s rarely around. ?It?s really hard to admit it, but John is the better parent,? she states.

Last week, Mary Jane’s ex-boyfriend David revealed that he’s in a serious relationship and this week Mary Jane finds out who her ‘replacement’ is.

David’s new boo happens to be a hot model/’fashionista’ blogger who has a spread on page 86 of a popular fashion magazine.?Mary Jane looks her up and she?s clearly a ’10’ and MJ is CLEARLY jealous. ?She?s a 6? she declares! ?She?s a strong 7,? says Cara.

One thing’s for sure… Mary Jane Paul is attracted to men she can’t have!? Now that her married boyfriend is in her home, she seems more focused on her ex.? And now that her ex has a new woman… well, we all know she’s going to pursue him with a vengeance now that he’s not really ‘single’ any more.

And the unraveling beings…

Mary Jane finds the courage to end it with Andre.

?I love you. But I can?t be in this relationship,? she tells him when he comes in, telling him that she doesn?t want to settle.

?I?ve been trying to break this off ? since I found out you were married ? when you gave me the engagement ring ? when I found out you were still sleeping with Avery.?

Andre doesn?t take the news too well. ?I feel like I?m fighting with my wife!?

That statement leads Mary Jane to convince Andre that he’s still in love with Avery and that his wife may even take him back.

Episode #7 ends with Andre packing his backs and going home to his wife (that was easy). He leaves his key and a handwritten post-it note wishing Mary Jane ‘Good Luck Unraveling’.

Is this really ‘the end’ for Mary Jane and her married boyfriend?
