Relationships can be difficult at times, but when an engagement starts off with news of a baby mama, it’s got to be hard.
You may have heard by now that Gabrielle Union and her longtime boyfriend, NBA baller Dwayne Wade got engaged for Christmas, but did you know that he had a baby mama waiting in the wings?
Well… clutch your pearls now because Wade’s latest kid isn’t with his new fiance, but with a woman by the name of Sandrina Shultz Aja Manique Metoyer, who now holds the title of ‘baby mama’ after giving birth 5 weeks ago to D. Wade’s infant son.

According to ESPN:
“In our time apart, in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son who was born healthy,” Wade said.
Wade said the infant was approximately a month old.
“I got a chance to see him,” Wade said. “I’m involved in my kids’ lives, you know. When my kids lived at home with me, when they weren’t living at home with me, I tried to do everything I could to see them.”
Wade has two children, Zion and Zaire, from a previous marriage. In March 2012, Wade won sole custody of them after a contentious court battle. They were a focal point of his 201 memoir, “A Father First,” in which responsible parenting was a central theme.
Asked if the event of the birth compromised the message of the book, Wade insisted it did not.
“It would compromise it if I wasn’t a father first,” Wade said. “This is something obviously private for my family that we will continue to deal with as a family. But we have a blessing, too, to the bloodline, the Wade bloodline. From that standpoint, to me, it doesn’t state anything differently than what I’ve always shown.”
D. Wade’s new baby mama’s name is Sandrina Shultz Aja Manique Metoyer.? News of her existence hit the net earlier this year while she was still carrying his child.
Whatever the case, she’s the mother of the latest addition to the Wade legacy, whether his fiance’ likes it or not.
UPDATE: TMZ released a copy of the birth certificate which shows the child’s name is Xavier Zechariah Wade … and he was only born last month.
Wade’s new son was born in Los Angeles on Nov. 10, 2013 … just 6 weeks before Wade popped the question to Gabrielle, who he’s been dating since 2009.
In the meantime, as news of the baby was about the spring, Gabby jetted off to an exotic location for a girls getaway with friends.

Welp… at least Union is taking it all in stride.? Especially since the net is buzzing that Wade only proposed to ‘ease the pain of his betrayal’.
