In honor of her deceased son, Kile Glover, Tameka held a 5k run/walk event last Saturday morning (November 30, 2013) and hundreds of friends, family members and supporters turned out in freezing weather.
Kile Glover was only 11 years old when he was killed in an unfortunate boating accident on Lake Lanier in July 2012. The talented youngster had a love of music & the arts so Tameka dealt with her grief by honoring her son by forming The Kile’s World Foundation in January 2013.

Proceeds from the race will support Kile’s World, whose mission is to give underprivileged kids access to the arts.? It is Tameka’s hope to one day build a school in honor of her deceased son.
Supporters included: Cynthia Bailey & Peter Thomas of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Syleena Johnson and Monifah of R&B Divas, several of Tameka’s family members and many more.

Tameka was overwhelmed by all of her supportive friends and family and got emotional as she spoke about her son, stating:
“Kile was an avid artist, he loved to draw and paint, sing, and he did song-writing, and acting.” Raymond said she was thrilled with the turnout for the race, and plans to bring it back again next year.
“I just love it,” said Foster. “I’m overwhelmed right now.”
[SIDEBAR: Many media outlets have been referring to Kile as ‘Usher’s stepson,’ but sadly the superstar has been a no-show to every event held in honor of Kile (including the funeral). Kile’s father is television executive Ryan Glover, and I’m not sure what his deal is… but he hasn’t been spotted at any of the foundation’s events either…. but I digress.]
For the record, Tameka is planning another 5k run/walk event to coincide with the 1 year anniversary of The Kile’s World Foundation, which launched on Kile’s 12th birthday (March 31, 2013).
The next 5k will be emotional as well as it will fall on what would have been Kile’s 13th birthday. Major props to Tameka for keeping her son’s legacy alive.
