In Episode #6 of Preachers of L.A.(?Staying True to You?), lots of “Preacher’ behavior gets the side-eye (as usual).
Bishop Ron Gibson aspires to be on the board of his church, but other pastors believe his “gangsta” ways may be a bit too radical.
Lady Myesha Chaney, Lady Christy Haizlip, and Loretta sit down for lunch at the restaurant Loretta owns with Noel Jones. The ladies discuss Deitrick Haddon’s upcoming wedding and whether or not tattoos are sinful.
Myesha Chaney clearly doesn’t approve of marking one’s flesh with ink, but her husband considers one after watching Pastor Haizlip get one.
Cameron McClendon, Bishop Clarence Mclendon’s son, finally gets the chance to show off his writing and singing chops by performing in front of his father’s congregation.

VIDEO: Preachers of LA Episode #6
Gibson seems to take it all in stride and seems to understand the importance of their words… especially since he wants to be a part of the General Board of Pastors AND he?s about to preach to them on Sunday.
The younger McClendon is put in charge of the opening worship music for an upcoming service at his Dad’s church and while Bishop McClendon is supportive of his son, he doesn?t seem to grasp the fact that he doesn’t actually display it well.
McClendon is concerned that his son will screw up and he basically tells him that, putting a bit of pressure on him. In the end, Cameron nails his performance at the service, so it?s all good and Daddy?s proud.
When Loretta asks Myesha to try one of her unconventional dishes, Ms. Myesha (a ‘traditionalist’) turns up her nose at the proposal. New food is clearly not her thing.
When the ladies’ conversation turn to tattoos (Pastor Jay is preparing to get a new one), Myesha lets it be known that she is against that too.
?No way! Never in a million years!? she says, when Christy suggests that she gets one.
Myesha feels it’s sinful to get tattoos and her husband disagrees. When Pastor Wayne tells her he?s thinking about getting one himself (along with Pastor Jay), Myesha shuts him down, basically telling him that he is risking the salvation of his soul by desecrating his body with permanent ink.
His response is classic though! ?But ? you wear make-up and you have your ears pierced??
He has a point! 😆
**Noticeably absent this episode? Deitrick Haddon and his secret wife, Simone.
Are tattoos sinful?
Would you look at your Pastor sideways if you saw him in the tattoo parlor?
