The reunion has been taped and while I’m sure Miss. Mona Scott Young pimped the cast for all the drama she could during those last few hours, Monday night, as we know it, will soon come to an end.
A friend an I were chatting over dinner the other day about how season one of LHHATL seemed much more “realistic” than the current season. Perhaps it was the sudden popularity of the cast that changed things but season 2 just seemed way too glossed over and fake.
Acting lessons aside… if there’s a 3rd season of LHHATL, maybe Mona should consider making a few changes to keep fans engaged.

This change is quite obvious and, based off how much airtime she?s received, inevitable. Karlie Redd?s storyline is in a catatonic phase right now.
Benzino?s signed a contract of $75,000 to work as an unlicensed clinical social worker.

Karlie should be quite upset with
K. MichelleWhassserface in particular forK. MichelleWhasserface taking her own initiative to mediate the tension between the two, costing Karlie Redd at least two or three episodes worth of appearances.Joseline also hasn?t focused much of her attention on Karlie Redd other than to ridicule her performances of ?Fake African Purse? and ?I?m Locked Out (Of The Studio)? at Aurum Lounge in downtown Atlanta.

This one should be quite obvious.
Nivea is best friends with Rasheeda, which means that she comes in with a genuine friendship to a cast member and increases the likelihood that she will give more insight into why she got divorced from The Dream, her broken engagement from Lil? Wayne, and how she ended up pregnant by Lil? Wayne during her separation from The Dream.
Furthermore, Nivea is friends with Toya Wright and MeMpHiTz and still performing at random venues in attempt to ripen her sour music career.

Mimi and Stevie J?s relationship is overwhelming enough. We could stand to see less light skinned women hurt over an infidelity.
Also, Traci Steele is a proven troublemaker. While this might serve for a good role on ‘Basketball Wives’, it?s added nothing to Love and Hip Hop Atlanta.
The producers set-up the drama, and Traci functions more like a catalyst than a character/cast member.
And Babey Drew? He’s just there for the b*tches and the drinks.

Rasheeda and Kirk are the only cast members that own their house (citation needed?seriously!) and have furniture.
Joseline is excluded as a ‘cast member with furniture’ because her apartment is decorated like a doll house. She makes way too much money (by my standards) to use bean bag chairs as living room couches and futons as entertainment centers.
And Mimi Faust should have spent her boob job money on upgrading the plastic furniture in her one bedroom studio. I wonder if her daughter has a bed or an air mattress (? la Sheree Whitfield’s son).
Also, did anyone else notice that Mama Dee lives in an apartment this season? What happened to her pay-as-you go townhome from season 1?
In some ways I?ve enjoyed season 2 more than season 1, but in other ways I haven?t. I?m not enjoying the inconsistency in the quality of the episodes. The first three episodes could?ve been compressed into a 90 minute debut special.
It?s quite obvious that the characters are showing their asses for the cameras, too. We know the cast is watching with us. They?re also filming the next day and delivering plastic reactions to ?new? situations.
This show has to be scripted!
All jokes aside, Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta has effectively functioned as a platform for the cast to get their stories out. And, according to Mona Scott Young, her shows place its cast members on the path to success.
Kirk and Rasheeda fake broke up only to fake get back together. Karlie Redd was able to give a free performance at Aurum Lounge with the legendary Beenie Man, and Ariane’s had enough screen time to (almost) be considered a cast member.
If all of them get the boot next season, at least they got a jump start for their next venture.
