It’s no secret that Perry has done kind acts for strangers in need over the years and now he’s done it again.? This time, the actor/writer/director cut a check to a local soccer team whose fundraising dollars were stolen.

Details below…

According to Atlanta news station 11Alive,? Perry wrote a $5,000 check this week to a Lawrenceville soccer team that lost money from a fundraiser when the team’s coach’s truck was broken into following the event.

“Out of nowhere I got a call from Tyler Perry’s publicist company,” coach Michael Samnik told the Gwinnett Daily Post. “They told me that Tyler Perry had seen the news and that he was very moved by what happened.”

According to an incident report filed by Lilburn Police, officers were called to the Oyster Barn on Beaver Ruin Road on June 9. A person there told police they saw a man wearing a motorcycle helmet smash the window of a vehicle belonging to a Gwinnett Soccer Association coach.

Samnik, who coaches the Phoenix Red U-16 team, told officers all the money the team raised at a fundraiser was taken. The incident report stated that more than $2,400 in cash was stolen

The team publicized the unfortunate incident and sought volunteers to help re-earn the stolen money. Apparently Perry saw the coverage and decided to come to the rescue…. and replaced the teams stolen funds with a check for $5,000.

Church’s Chicken also reached out to the team (which is reportedly ranked No #1 in it’s age group) and donated $4,000 and lunch.
