Mike Patterson is currently hospitalized after he broke his neck diving into a creek to rescue 4-year-old Javea Jones a little over a week ago.
On June 8, 2013, Mike Patterson severed his spine after he dove into a creek in Rockmart, Georgia to save a stranger’s child from drowning. Mike was left paralyzed after his effort to rescue the four-year-old girl. Mike?s life has been forever changed by his accident. Mike will incur loss of income and increased living expenses as a result of his injuries. Mike?s tragic story has made news headlines around the globe. Mike?s heroic act has brought an outpouring of desire to help Mike in his time of need.
After consultation with Mike?s mother and stepfather, the Friends of Mike Patterson Trust has been established for the benefit of Mike Patterson.

A representative for Atlanta’s Tyler Perry told Channel 2’s Diana Davis that Perry has donated $50,000 to the Michael Patterson fund!
