The former Falcon reportedly hammered out a deal with prosecutors where he agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of reckless driving and speeding.? In exchange for the plea deal, the DUI charge was dropped.
But wait. Turner didn’t get off that easy, he’s also required to do a few things to complete his sentence.

TMZ reports that Turner was sentenced to 1 year probation and 30 days of community service. He was also ordered to complete a risk reduction program and submit to random drug testing.
Turner, who was also called “The Burner” during his stint with the Atlanta Falcons was released alongside veteran players Dunta Robinson and Johns Abraham, after the team’s track to the Super Bowl ended in defeat.
On Michael Turner’s official Facebook page, Turner thanked the franchise for his opportunity even though chances are slim that he’ll be picked up by another team any time soon.
Turner made the news all last year with a ton of baby mama drama. With 7 kids and 5 baby mamas in tow, I’m sure the aging running back is hard pressed to get back in the game as quickly as possible.
Just FYI, NFL.com breaks down Turner’s chances as a free agent as follows:
“The Burner” doesn’t really break long runs any more, but he was productive against the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC divisional playoffs with 98 yards. While we don’t rank him among the top five running backs available (or the top 85 players overall), he should be able to find a role somewhere. A team like the New York Giants could look at him for short-yardage duties. He could be a potential backup for the Dallas Cowboys.
In general, veteran running backs don’t come off the market quickly.
The Falcons have now signed Steven Jackson as Turner’s younger/faster replacement.
