Quick Quotes: Spike Lee & Tavis Smiley Speak Out Against ‘Django Unchained’… [VIDEO]

Don’t Ask Spike Lee About Tyler Perry… ] Prior to the release of Django Unchained, Lee gave his word to Django’s lead character, Jamie Foxx, that he wouldn’t go in on the flick. [READ: “Django Unchained” Review + Atlanta Celebs Attend Pre-Screening… (PHOTOS)] Foxx even spoke of their conversation in a recent interview, stating:

“You know Spike, he’ll let you have it whether it’s good, bad or ugly. And he said, ‘I’m not going to say anything bad about this film. It looks like y’all are getting it.'”

Well… scratch all that! Spike apparently feels some kinda way about the film now and is now calling Quentin Tarantino’s latest creation, “disrespectful”. Details below… Spike Lee was recently asked about his feelings toward the movie and he had very little to say about the “Django Unchained.” In fact, Lee says he’s not even going to bother viewing the film!? Lee explained to Vibe:

I cant speak on it ’cause I’m not gonna see it. All I’m going to say is that it’s disrespectful to my ancestors. That’s just me…I’m not speaking on behalf of anybody else.

While there is definitely a ton of “N” bombs dropped in the film (for the record, “Nigger” was spoken approximately 110 times by various characters, according to online reports),?the film is billed as a fictional tale that pokes fun at several serious situations.
