NEWSFLASH! Drake Wants A Check For Use of “YOLO”….

The phrase has become a staple in pop culture conversation and Drake feels he’s solely responsible for popularizing the term on his 2011 hit ?The Motto? off his album ?Take Care.?

Now Drake wants compensation from several retailers who have used “YOLO” on merchandise.

The Young Money mogul recently hit up instagram with a few photos that he insinuates may be infringing upon his ownership of the famous phrase.

Details below…

According to BlackEnterprise, it?s unclear if Drake has a trademark for the term because there are currently over 100 YOLO trademark applications in the United States for every imaginable item, ranging from t-shirts to cologne.

Drake is also not credited with originating the term in pop culture, that honor belongs to Adam Mesh from the NBC reality show ?The Average Joe.?

KnowYourMeme.com reports that Mesh used the term in 2003 and then developed a YOLO clothing line in 2004. (via: Gawker.com)

Maybe Drake is just joking…. 😕

Do you think Drake has a claim for YOLO?
