Due to her family’s extensive history in Atlanta, I thought it would be great to offer those of you who DON’T know a lil Atlanta history lesson on Porsha’s grandfather, the late great Hosea Williams.

Williams passed away in 2000, but in 1998, he gave a tour of Atlanta to Dough Richards of WAGA-TV Fox5.

Watch the classic video below? + learn a few pertinent details about the Atlanta legend whose granddaughter is the newest “housewife”…

The civil rights agitator, former city councilman and Atlanta raconteur gives a tour of his hometown, circa 1998. Aired on WAGA-TV. Reporter: Doug Richards.

While he’s best known for Hosea Feed The Hungry, an Atlanta initiative that famously feeds thousands during the holiday seasons, Williams led two marches in Forsyth County, Georgia back in 1987.

At that time, Forsyth had refused to honor the holiday of late Martin Luther King, Jr. after it had officially been designated as a national holiday.? Williams and his group of demonstrators peacefully marched in protest, but were attacked by several hundred members of the Ku Klux Klan. A 2nd march was held that same year in protest of Klan activities in the county, it was attended over 20,000 (including Coretta Scott King) and was held without incident largely due to an enormous showing of police and sheriff department officers, plus nationwide coverage.

Forsyth County began to slowly integrate in the following years due the expansion of the Atlanta suburbs and the availability of reasonably priced housing. Forsyth is no longer considered merely an exurb of Atlanta but is a rapidly growing suburb.

Williams was very well known and loved around Atlanta and his name is listed amongst the hometown civil rights advocates of his time.

That being said… someone should probably tell Porsha’s fellow RHOA Kenya Moore to watch how she treats Atlanta’s “princess”.

Word on the curb is that Moore has been treating Porsha “like Nene used to treat Kim.”? Apparently Kenya has took on Leakes’ former role as the B*I*T*C*H* this season and has been “bullying” Stewart.? That’s not to say that Porsha can’t hold her own, but my sources say that Kenya’s “strong personality” is no match for her fellow newbie and that she treats her horribly for no good reason.

On the outside looking in, I could see how there might be a bit of jealousy involved in Kenya’s actions. Stewart is clearly younger, prettier, well connected and most importantly…. she’s a “REAL” real housewife because she’s actually MARRIED.

It will be quite interesting to see how this season phases Nene’s “bitchiness” out and Kenya’s in.

Will Porsha keep it “classy”? I guess we’ll have to just wait and see…
