R.I.P. Kile Glover: “A Beautiful Mind” Is Laid to Rest [PHOTOS + VIDEO]

Kile Glover, the 11 year old son of Tameka Raymond and her ex-husband Ryan Glover, was laid to rest last Friday (July 27, 2012).

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, a close friend and former classmate of Bounce television executive Ryan Glover, shared words about the bright 11-year-old, who passed away last week after suffering from injuries sustained from a jet ski accident on July 6th.

Kile’s stepdad Usher Raymond also attended the funeral, but appropriately remained out of the spotlight.

A white horse-drawn buggy transported Kile, who many described as “A Beautiful Mind,” to the funeral service which was held at the Wieuca Road Baptist Church on Peachtree Street in Atlanta. Kile was dressed in an all white suit from head to toe.

Service arrangements were handled by Phaedra Parks, who coordinated the event with Willie Watkins Funeral Home. Others who appeared to show their respects include Nene & Gregg Leakes, former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young, Sister2Sister editor Jamie Foster-Brown and more.

The funeral program honored Kile with several photos taken with family and friends.? Tameka’s words about her son, “A Beautiful Mind” was used to describe the bright youngster on the cover as well.? He was also remembered in a video, titled, “A Beautiful Mind.”

Just hours before the accident that occurred on Lake Lanier, Kile sent a postcard from his iPhone to family and friends. The family shared the postcard in the program where Kile wrote:

Hello from paradise,

wishing you were here. Our vacation is everything we have hoped for and more. We’re also excited to come home to family and friends.

There were several film and camera crews around the area and I knew a video would soon be coming. Rolling Out posted the following live from the scene footage where they also interviewed Willie Watkins, who spoke of Kile as a ‘soul without sin’.

Tameka has also set up a Kile Glover Fund in hopes of preventing another senseless death at Lake Lanier.

While it’s clear that nothing can replace her son, helping others save their’s is a noble goal on her part. No mother should ever have to bury their child.
