Good in the ‘Hood: Ludacris, Keri Hilson ‘Do Something’ Great For Local High School… [PHOTOS]

Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges?and?Keri Hilson?paid a visit to Osborne High School as part of The Bing Summer of Doing program?yesterday (June 20, 2012).

The celebrities and various other volunteers assisted with various projects, including painting a new mobile community classroom and graffiti-covered walls, creating a cafeteria mural and weeding around the campus.

Luda says he saw the project as an extension of his own nonprofit organization, The Ludacris Foundation, which aims to help children help themselves.

?Any time we have individuals and organizations like DoSomething.org and Bing, they always like to come together and try to get all of the kids to volunteer for their local communities,? he said.

?That?s why I?m here.?

Ludacris, Keri and?Los Angeles-based hip hop quartet Far East Movement all graciously participated in the project to beautify the high school campus of Cobb County, Georgia’s oldest school.

Keri, who was raised in Decatur, took her favorite quote as inspiration to create a mural. ?The quote, which the talented lyricist created is tattooed on her right arm, and reads:

?Dream in color, wake up to a blank canvas, then paint your life with all of the colors your heart desires.?

?I hope that when they pass this quote that I?ve written, I hope that they really do feel inspired to dream big,? she said while painting with a volunteer.

?I?m here to inspire others to do something, even if it?s as small as helping to paint a mural to beautify the premises of an old high school, such as Osborne High School in Cobb County.?

Bing funded the projects at the school.

The day of service was organized as a summer partnership between Bing, a Microsoft search engine, and DoSomething.org, an organization with a mission to get teenagers active in social change within their communities.

Props to Luda, Keri, Bing and all involved for doing some good in the ‘hood!
