During Day 3 of the 2012 Coachella Music Festival, Snoop Dogg and a hologram of deceased rapper Tupac Shakur hit the stage at the Empire Polo Field on April 15, 2012 in Indio, California.
If you haven’t seen by now, Tupac and his computer-generated washboard abs made a triumphant return to the stage last weekend, in what will undoubtedly go down as the most creative use of a hologram since Disneyland first projected ghosts sitting next to you on that dayum Haunted Mansion ride.
And while it’s being hailed as the greatest innovative concert ever… Tupac’s hologram is clearly just the beginning!

A ripped Tupac Shakur, who died over 15 years ago, miraculously appeared onstage during the concert shirtless rapping alongside Snoop Dogg.
Some felt the hologram was disrespectful to the dead but many felt it was the most amazing thing ever. Whatever the case, it’s impossible to deny how lifelike the projected image appeared.
But wait… Tupac’s “resurrection” has appeared to pave the way for a highway filled with other dead celebrity holograms! Tupac was just the beginning. So prepare yourselves, because Hologramania is just beginning.
According to TMZ, Dr. Dre wants to take the Tupac hologram on tour and E! news is reporting that the hologram version of Michael Jackson could soon join his brothers on stage. *faints*
But you know it’s not gonna stop there! Why not dig up other dead celebs so that they can have their day in the spotlight yet again.
Notorious B.I.G…. Elvis…? Jimi Hendrix…? Luther Vandross…? John Lennon… Gerald LeVert… Whitney Houston? Hell… the sky’s the limit! Why grieve for Aaliyah when we can just cue up the projector and have her perform a whole new set?
