During the past two episodes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, we witnessed Sheree Whitfield‘s plan to assist her formerly future son in-law Damon with an elaborate plan to propose to her oldest daughter Tierra.
Details…
Tierra has appeared sporadically on the show but is rarely seen or spoken of, which is why many felt it was odd an odd twist of storyline for Sheree to pretend to be the doting mom all of a sudden, spending a huge amount of tv time with Tierra’s boyfriend, Damon, and offering him suggestions on what would work best for his marriage proposal to her invisible daughter.
The two visited Atlanta jewelry stores and even did a few site visits in order to create the perfect day.? The one question that echoed last night on the social networking site, Twitter, is ‘why was Sheree so involved when we haven’t even seen nor heard talk of her daughter just about the entire season’?

Secondly, Sheree confides during her confessional that while she received a huge ring when she got engaged, her proposal occurred in a bedroom after she was already the mother of Whitfield’s 2 kids.
[Sidebar: For those who don’t know, Sheree met retired NFL baller Bob Whitfield back in ’93 after he’d been drafted to play for the Atlanta Falcons… three years later in ’96 she gave birth to their first child, a son, Kairo… three years after that in ’99 Sheree’ gave birth to their second child, daughter, Kaleigh… Sheree and Bob married in 2000 and officially separated in 2003 and their divorce was finalized in 2007, which was also the year Bob chose to retire from football.]
That being said, it’s possible Sheree may have taken her hands on approach with Damon’s proposal efforts to live vicariously through her daughter’s successful relationship. Many people do it, right?
By the end of the episode, Sheree’s guidance ends up making Damon re-think the whole marriage thing.
OR… it could have just meant Damon felt Sheree needed to back up and consider what her daughter wanted as opposed to what SHE wanted.
