Clayton, a 24-year-old single mother of two, may have won $1 million in the Michigan state lottery, but she still receives $200 a month in food stamps!
It wasn’t long before someone snitched, and acting on a tip, Local 4 news in Detroit confronted Clayton about it and she attempted to explain, stating:
I thought that they would cut me off, but since they didn’t, I thought maybe it was OK because I’m not working.
Asked by Local 4 asked if she felt she had a right to the money, Clayton responded, “I mean I kinda do.”

After choosing the option to take a lump sum as opposed to a 30 year annuity, Claytonreceived about $700,000 and after paying taxes, pocketed around $500,000. Her mom, Euline Clayton of Lincoln Park, told the Detroit News that Amanda bought a new home and car with the winnings.
?I feel that it?s okay because I mean, I have no income and I have bills to pay,? she added. ?I have two houses.?
