After all that, T-Boz is still keeping on.? And it’s good to see her laugh and smile on a recent interview with LSO Radio.

During her stint on-air, Watkins spoke publicly about VH1’s plans to do a biopic on the Atlanta-based girl group, stating:

Yes… TLC is doing a movie. They’re starting to do movies on VH1. So they’re doing icons and legends and we’re the first of the movies to be picked. Yaaaay!

It’s exciting. It’s like Waterfalls being made, it’s scary. Like ‘Oh My God.. if I tell you my story are you gonna do it right?’

I almost wanted to do it like The Jacksons’… break it down into like 5 episodes or something cause we have so much stuff….

According to Rodney Ho of the AJC, it was Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas‘ ties to VH1 through her now defunct, ?What Chilli Wants? dating reality show that opened the door for TLC’s story to be told.

“What Chilli Wants” ended after two seasons, but Chilli kept ties with the network, who announced it will be doing a scripted biopic about the Atlanta-based girl group.

“With the tremendous success of our scripted series ?Single Ladies,? we now know that viewers will come to VH1 for quality scripted projects. We?re eager to expand on that success with this bio-pic franchise that will allow us to explore our music, pop culture, and authentic storytelling strengths in yet another format,? said Jeff Olde, EVP Original Programming & Production, VH1.

?We?re honored to collaborate with Chilli, Tionne and Bill Diggins in sharing their own personal story and TLC?s record-breaking legacy with VH1 viewers.?

Acclaimed screenwriter Kate Lanier (?What?s Love Got To Do With It? and ?Beauty Shop) has signed on to pen the bio-pic.

Chilli and T-Boz will each serve as advisors and executive producers of the project.

TLC has a long history that should be entertaining on screen.

Like… that whole LaFace drama where the girls accused the label of effin up their dough, subsequently causing them to file bankruptcy. Chilli publicly proclaiming her virginity and promoting abstinence but coming up pregnant with producer Dallas Austin’s love child.

Shoot… bump the “behind the music” stuff, I’m hoping they include all the behind the scenes dating drama!

Lisa Lopes/Andre Rison’s toxic relationship when they used to fight in front of Club 112 all the time… or that whole Mack 10/T-Boz thing… and oh yeah… we can’t forget Chilli & Usher’s failed engagement.

Dang… that movie better be good!

Are you looking forward to a TLC biopic?
