Tha Carter IV Hits a Milli in Sales (Almost) + Trey Songz Remixes “Nightmares of the Bottom” [AUDIO]

Forget watching it… Lil Wayne has officially TAKEN the throne from Jay-Z and Kanye West.

Weezy more than doubled the hip-hop duo’s measly first week sales of 463,000 copies of Watch the Throne by hitting 964,000 in first week sales of Tha Carter IV.

Lil Wayne was thisclose to making history as the first rap act to open with back-to-back million-selling albums. Thanks to record-setting iTunes sales of 300,000, plus the push provided by a post-VMA on-sale stunt, Weezy’s eagerly anticipated Tha Carter IV will debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart next week on sales of 964,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. In related news, Trey Songz climbs aboard the Lil Wayne train this week by remixing one of Tha Carter IV‘s hot tracks for his own personal pleasure.
