Soulja Boy Lied About $55 Million Jet Purchase… *STATEMENT*

I told y’all my spidey senses were tingling yesterday when that Soulja Boy claimed to have made that $55 Million Dollar Birthday Purchase.

I got even more skeptical when I noticed that SoujaBoy was “retweeting” (i.e. “reposting other tweets” for all you non-tweeters) all the press he was getting surrounded the story:

TMZ fell for the story after Soulja Boy, a member of his management team named Shai Storm and Soulja’s assistant all confirmed that it was true… well now a rep for the rapper has spilled called it all a LIE!

Details below:

Greg Miller, Soulja Boy’s spokesman released the following statement:

The elaborate rumors circulating about Soulja Boy purchasing a jet for his 21st birthday are grossly over exaggerated and are not true.”

A source close to the rapper says that Soulja Boy DID recently BORROW a private jet owned by some billionaire, but he has no immediate plans to buy one.

No word on the identity of the “billionaire” who would actually trust SouljaBoy with their property.

Whatever the case… the mystery has been solved. Cue Biggie: “It was all a dream…”

In another bad financial news, Soulja Boy reportedly owes Uncle Sam thousands of dollars in back taxes. *sigh*

Radar Online published official documents revealing a $26,805 tax lien filed against the rapper on March 24 the State of California.

They found he also owed the State of Mississippi $3,571 in back taxes, but allegedly paid the full amount on July 22.

In other unfortunate news, his home in Georgia was foreclosed on last year, according to the Detroit News Tax Watchdog blog.

Soulja Boy made the Forbes list as No. 18 on Hip-Hop’s top earners in 2010, with a reported $6 million earned from touring.

Soulja Boy shoulda just shut up and celebrated his 21st birthday and none of this woulda happened!! One thing he DID do right was get his name in our mouths for two whole days, though. That’s PR magic right there…. Clap for him!
