On that note, meet Dominic Holt-Reid of Ohio. *sigh*

This future sex slave of cell block 8 was sentenced last week to 13 years in prison after he took his girlfriend (at gunpoint) to a medical clinic and tried to force her to have an abortion.

Details below:

Holt-Reid pleaded guilty back in April to attempted murder, abduction and illegally possessing a gun.

In April 2010, the Columbus resident reportedly became enraged after his then-girlfriend Yolanda Burgess got pregnant and refused to have an abortion.

The couple already had a 5-year-old son, and after driving together to drop him off at school, Holt-Reid pulled a gun on the woman and forced her to drive to the clinic.

Clinic staff called police after Burgess passed them a note saying she had been threatened and didn’t want to go through with the procedure. Holt-Reid was subsequently arrested in the clinic parking lot in possession of a .45 handgun.

In sentencing, the Judge rejected Holt-Reid’s defense attorney?s argument that his client was guilty of much less serious domestic violence charges that had nothing to do with the fetus his girlfriend was carrying.

Defense attorneys argued that, at worst, Holt-Reid committed the crimes of aggravated menacing and coercion for the threats he made against Yolanda Burgess in October.

?This is a run-of-the-mill domestic violence case,? Shoemaker said. ?The mother is emotionally worked up but the baby?s not harmed in any way.?

But the judge said he couldn?t ignore a piece of evidence that the Defense introduced during his statement, the contents of a text message Burgess sent to her sister the morning Holt-Reid forced her to go to the clinic.

?If anything happens to me, Dominic Reid did it,? said the text.

The judge in the case said that the text showed the amount of fear Burgess was experiencing the morning of the incident.

Burgess, who was who was three months pregnant and 26 years old at the time, did not go through with the procedure but instead passed a note to a clinic employee, who called police.

FYI… Yolanda Burgess has since delivered a healthy baby, who’ll hopefully never know the lengths his/her daddy took to prevent their birth.
