You’ve probably been bobbin’ your head to YC aka Yung Chris’? “Racks” for a few weeks now. The song his exploded over the Atlanta area and is steady getting airplay.
I swear, every time I turn on the radio all I hear is “racks on racks on racks”. It’s one of those catchy songs you just take for granted and sing along to, but I don’t even know what a dayum “rack” is!
Just the other day, celebrity photographer Joi Pearson and I were chopping it up about “racks” and we each came to the conclusion that it was obviously more than a “stack” but we never figured out how much more.
Yung Chris, who happens to be Straight from the DEC (that’s Decatur/East Atlanta for all you non-ATLiens), recently did a video explaining to all us lames who are lost in the lingo, exactly what the hell a “rack” is.

I’m glad YC cleared that up. Now I’ll have the answer the next time someone asks me…
For those of you who can’t watch the video, a “rack” is approximately $1,000, which is equal to 10 “stacks”. Therefore, racks on racks on racks would be several thousand….which is way more cash than I ever have have on “deck”.
[Sidebar: I’m slow but I’m catching up… don’t revoke my “A” card yet!]? 😆
