Nelly & and his On again… off again… boo Ashanti were spotted at Nelly?s 5th Annual Black and White ball in St. Louis.
Nelly has often denied that he and Ashanti were ever even dating, but besides all that they still make somewhat of a cute couple. Now Nelly is finally opening up about whether he has plans to make an honest woman out of lady love Ashanti. When asked about their relationship, he replied:
It?s like society puts a pressure on you because they want to see a certain relationship. But if that relationship don?t work, then society doesn?t want to take the responsibility for when it don?t work.
I think you really have to be friends first. It?s not about how long it takes because there?s no time limit on this. I?m not a person that wants to get married more than once. I?m not a person that wants to be in a relationship more than once.
If I?ma do it, I?ma do it. You?re dying if you leave me.
Ummm… well Ashanti. That’s all on you boo.

The holiday gala kicked off at 9 p.m. and revelers were treated to a performance by the rapper himself of his most recent #1 pop single, Just a Dream. The song premiered in St. Louis last summer during the concert that was organized to help attract the Democratic National Convention in 2012.
Nelly was later joined on stage by Ashanti for a string of duets.
Nelly was joined at the party by a diverse group of his celebrity friends from both the music and athletic worlds, including Grammy-winning producer Jermaine Dupri, hip-hop legend Darryl ?DMC? McDaniels and a slew of NFL players.
This year?s winners of the Lindenwood scholarship were Ammi Bell of Grafton and Cristina Catarinicchia of St. Louis.
