That the real reason Miss Sophia was “fired” from the Frank & Wanda Morning Show was because he/she had a big mouth.
Word is… Sophia (aka Joe Taylor), the gossiping transvestite who sat alongside V-103’s Frank Ski and Wanda Smith, would often spread gossip about her morning show bossman while she was out and about doing appearances.
Because of this, when time came for Miss Sophia to renew her contractual agreement with the station, they imposed a clause in her 2-year deal, which stated that he/she could no longer do outside appearances.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to determine that the host of the show was privy to this information. Apparently wanting to cease & desist Miss Sophia from spreading news of his “alleged” infidelities…. but you didn’t hear that from me.
As for Elle Duncan, she was pegged as Miss Sophia’s replacement because of her young spirit and vitality. A much needed YOUNGER boost to Frank & Wanda, who are both in their 40’s.
It’s also been said that Elle’s love of sports can only help on the show. Frank & Wanda aren’t much for sports, and Elle’s lively spirit can bring some WAKE UP to the morning show.
She also has a unique bright voice, which is a plus in the mornings. Frank & Wanda often sound like they need coffee and cigarette before they get crunk and Elle seems like the perfect solution.
Keep in mind that although Elle had her own mid-day show, this move is actually a promotion for her…. but I digress.
Other factors included in Miss Sophia’s release included popularity polls and research conducted by the station. It’s rumored that Sophia didn’t fare well in the polls. Funny thing is, they also learned that many listeners are not fond of Frank Ski but listen anyway (but we already knew that).
