More Legal Troubles for Atlanta Housewife…

Sheree Whitfield of The Real Housewives of Atlanta spoke about dreams of a 7-figure divorce settlement during the 1st season of Bravo’s hit show, but is 6-figures in debt due to her divorce.

TWO? (yup two!) Atlanta legal firms have filed suit against the fashionista, claiming she owes them a combined total of more than $180,000 in divorce-related fees!Sheree first hired Steve Montalto of Levine & Smith to pursue her divorce against now ex-hubby, Bob Whitfield and he’s filed suit for at least $87,000 in unpaid fees.

According to AJC’s Rodney Ho, Montalto says that Sheree has ?ignored and stonewalled any effort to respond to post-judgment discovery about her assets and income,? and he has asked a judge to force her to respond and to threaten her with incarceration. ?She thinks she?s above the law,? Montalto said.

The 2nd law firm Sheree contracted to seek her self-proclaimed? “7 figure divorce settlement” was Weinstock & Scavo and she never paid them either.

On June 10, the firm filed a civil lawsuit in Fulton County Superior Court seeking $96,190.18 in fees related to her divorce.? According to their complaint, $18,709.07 of the total is interest.

In citing breach of contract, the law firm said ?Ms. Whitfield has acted in bad faith, has been stubbornly litigious and has caused W&S unnecessary trouble and expense entitling W&S to an award of attorneys? fees and costs of litigation in connection with this case.?

Sheree’s ex, Bob is also listed in the lawsuit filed by Weinstock & Scavo. If you recall, Sheree decided to dismiss her divorce appeal after her attorneys revealed that her ex-hubby was broke and unable to pay the settlement.

The firm involved claims that Sheree’ and Bob were in cahoots and knowingly sold a property that they had secured a lien on for their unpaid legal fees.

Bob Whitfield sold the Atlanta property October 2009 and wrote in court documents that he needed to sell the property in order to pay Sheree the balance of the $775,000 divorce settlement agreement he signed in 2005.

Apparently Sheree’ got her cash and the law firm didn’t. Hence… the lawsuit.

Stay tuned.
